What is the Hunter Preferred Contractor Program?
Its an association that offers you more than just the industrys best products for residential and commercial systems. Hunters Preferred Contractor Program members also receive special benefits that demonstrate extra commitment to helping you grow your business and be more successful in your operation. How it works is simple. Once you are a Member, with every qualifying purchase you will receive points. These points can be collected and then redeemed for business benefit or personal pleasure. Gather enough points and then put them to work for your company through the purchase of advertising materials or new equipment. Or treat yourself to an enticing selection of great awards or cash. Youll also find that the Hunter Preferred Contractor Program provides a host of special opportunities e.g., educational seminars, product samples and the chance to test new products, enhanced communications and feedback to Hunter and your Distributor that will benefit both you and your business. Who is eligible for the Program? All professional landscape and/or irrigation contractor companies headquartered in the continental United States, Hawaii or Canada (excluding Quebec) are eligible. All you need to do is purchase Hunter irrigation products. There are no minimum purchase requirements and no bothersome product mix to maintain. Simply buy whatever you need to get the job done and earn points along the way. And, the more you buy, the better your award. Points are calculated based upon your cost for Hunter materials. For every $50.00 U.S. in eligible products you buy, youll earn points which you can exchange for an incredible array of awards. How are Points posted to my account? Theres no messy bookkeeping for you. Hunter will maintain all records of the award Points you have available. In order for us to turn your purchases into Points, however, you have to let us know what you bought:
In all cases, you must submit this information along with a Point Request Form (included in your membership folder) to ensure proper credit to your account.
The choice is yours. You can use your points right away, or save them for an even bigger award after several seasons. Just remember that points are good for up to three years (Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels) from the date of posting, so be sure to use them before they expire. Are There Opportunities to Earn Even More in the Preferred Contractor Program? The program is designed to provide a high level of service, benefits, and attention to all program members, with specific emphasis on customers who are purchasing the complete family of Hunter products on a continuous basis. Each year, program members are assigned to one of four levels based upon their prior year’s purchases posted to the program.
What are the Benefits for the Different Levels? All membership levels earn points at the standard rate in the Preferred Contractor Program (5 points are awarded for every $50 purchased). In addition, other benefits are available. Annual point Bonus: The top three membership levels offer an additional annual point bonus that allows members at these levels to attain their awards within the program more quickly. The point bonus is awarded annually (posted in a single transaction to the member’s account at year-end) and is calculated as a percentage of the member’s point earnings for purchases during the calendar year.
How are Customers Assigned Their status? Each year, customers are assigned to levels based on Hunter product purchases posted to their accounts between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year. What Happens if a Customer Purchases Less than the Minimum required Amount for Their Assigned Level? Customers whose total Hunter product purchases are below the minimum required amount for their levels in the calendar year will still receive the bonus on points for their assigned level. For instance, if a customer had $50,000 of Hunter product purchases posted to their account in the prior year, the customer is a Gold member for the current year. At the end of the current year, if the customer’s total Hunter product purchases posted to their account between January 1 and December 31 equals $35,000, the customer will still receive the 10% bonus on points for purchases on the basis of their Gold status. However, the customer is downgraded in status to enter the next year and is no longer eligible for the Gold benefits for the next season. Can Customers increase Their status Level Mid-season? Customers are assigned a level each year based upon their total posted purchases for the prior calendar year. It is important for you to watch your statements during the year to make sure your purchases are being posted throughout the season, so your status is properly credited at year-end for the next season. Preferred Contractors will be dynamically upgraded mid-season to the next level if they achieve it. For example, if a member enters the program at Silver status, they can achieve Gold status simply by purchasing $50,000 in Hunter during the current year. As soon as the threshold for the next level is met, the member is automatically upgraded and welcomed to the next level. When they reach the next level, their year-end point bonus is automatically upgraded for the entire year and they receive immediate access to the next level member benefits. What Happens if not All My Purchases are recorded in a Calendar year? Membership in the program and assignment to the different categories of membership are based on the purchases posted to your account during the calendar year. The timing of when we receive your information can impact your status. It is important to note that it is the member’s responsibility to make sure all purchases are posted during the year by reviewing the statements you receive. Remember that all purchases must be made from a local authorized Hunter Distributor in order to be eligible for points. Please report any discrepancies to the Preferred Contractor Program desk immediately. We sure hope that you like choices. Because there are quite a few things from which you’ll be able to select. There are three main categories of awards (all of which are explained in detail later in this booklet) and you can use your points toward any single award or combination of awards, in any single category or combination of categories.
